Yvonne Aitken Scholarship and WISENET Bursary for Diploma of Education Students 
Winner 2008 The Yvonne Aitken Scholarship, valued at $4,000, and the WISENET Bursary, valued at $2000, will be offered to female students who are Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents, normally resident in Victoria, enrolled at a Victorian university in 2013, in a Diploma of Education or equivalent course leading to a teaching qualification. The Women in Science Enquiry Network (WISENET) has donated a bursary to be awarded to a student preparing to teach Mathematics, Science or Technology. International students are not eligible for this scholarship. To be eligible for these awards, you must meet the following criteria: · Female gender · Australian citizen or permanent resident · Normally resident in Victoria while studying · Enrolled in a Graduate Diploma of Education or equivalent in 2013 · Enrolled at a Victorian university or a Victorian campus of the Australian Catholic University in 2013 Winners are expected to attend the Scholarship Presentation Day and give a brief presentation. Scholarships will only be awarded to students who are enrolled on Scholarship Presentation Day, normally held on the first Saturday in June. You must also demonstrate to the satisfaction of Graduate Women Victoria that you have been or are overcoming significant disadvantage in pursuing your studies. Significant disadvantage may include: · Financial difficulty or low income · English as a second language · Migrant or refugee status · Disability or medical condition · Identification as Aboriginal or Torres Islander · Delay or interruption to career or studies because of family/caring responsibilities · Geographical isolation If you wish to apply for these award, please download Information for Applicants Dip.Ed. Applicants are also asked to download the Guidelines for Referees for this scholarship Referee Guidelines 2013 Dip.Ed. and give them to referees with the request that the reference be given in time for forwarding by the closing date. It is preferable to provide 2 academic references but if unable to provide these you may provide 1 academic and 1 employment reference. The Scholarship Sub-committee of Graduate Women Victoria reserves the right to contact referees for further information. Closing date: 31 March Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
