International Scholarship for Postgraduate Research Students A Scholarship, valued at $2,500 is offered to a female International student enrolled in 2012 at a Victorian university, undertaking a postgraduate research degree. New Zealand students who are not permanent residents are also eligible to apply. To be eligible for these awards, you must meet the following criteria: · Female gender · International student or New Zealand student (not permanent resident) · Normally resident in Victoria while studying · Enrolled in a post-graduate research degree at 31 March 2012 · Enrolled at a Victorian university or a Victorian campus of the Australian Catholic University in 2012 Winners are expected to attend the Scholarship Presentation Day and give a brief presentation. Scholarships will only be awarded to students who are enrolled on Scholarship Presentation Day, normally held on the first Saturday in June. You must also demonstrate to the satisfaction of AFUW Victoria that you have been or are overcoming significant disadvantage in pursuing your studies. Significant disadvantage may include: · Financial difficulty or low income · English as a second language · Migrant or refugee status · Disability or medical condition · Identification as Aboriginal or Torres Islander · Delay or interruption to career or studies because of family responsibilities or illness · Geographical isolation Note that students enrolled in a post-graduate coursework degree are not eligible for this scholarship.
